  1.              POV Ray Trace 2.2 For The Atari ST

  3. This program is the  followup to  POV Ray Trace 1,  which  is the
  4. followup to DKB Raytrace by David  Buck. The first version of POV
  5. Ray Trace appeared  on the PC.  The Amiga,  Mac and  Falcon  soon
  6. followed.  This three disk set comprises of the  ST version.  The
  7. files have all been compressed using Vincent Pomey's  ST Zip v2.4
  8. and will have to be decompressed to 8 blank disks (or preferrably
  9. a hard drive) before use. ST Zip is easy to use but I've included
  10. the docs anyway so you should have no problems. If you don't have
  11. a hard drive, you will have to extract only the  scenes that  you
  12. require, otherwise you will not leave  enough space for  your ray
  13. traced file.  This is  rather tedious  but  the  full POV  system
  14. amounts to about 6 megabytes and the true  colour files  produced
  15. by POV can amount to several hundred kilobytes.

  17. POV Ray Trace is meant to be run  from a CLI but  you can now use
  18. POVSHELL by Dirk Klemmt (also supplied). It lets  you control POV
  19. from a GEM based interface. Finally, if you have a Falcon without
  20. an FPU,  you are advised to get the 030 optimised  version of POV
  21. on disks S-F.4512 & S-F.4513 as that version runs much faster! TT
  22. and Falcon owners (who have an FPU) should use the  TT  optimised
  23. version included in this distribution.
